Call To Meeting:
August 1, 2007

The first Board of Directors meeting of the Texas Society of Enrolled Agents for fiscal year 2007 – 2008 will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2007 in Brady, TX, at the Brady National Bank Community Room. The meeting will begin at 9:00 AM. It is the intention of this officer that we will be finished not later than 4:00 PM, but since we will be voting on the fiscal year budget, it may not finish at the planned time. However, you may plan on being able to get home Saturday night, unless you specifically plan to stay in Brady an extra night at your own expense.

Board members can make this process easier by notifying Treasurer Ricardo Rivas, EA, of any requests for budget items that he did not have included in the budget he passed out to you at the June 17th meeting. He must have these requests not later than September 1st in order to prepare the budget and send it out to all BOD members before the meeting in Brady. Included in this packet of information is the prior year budget for reference purposes.

Board members who are expected to attend this meeting are Officers, Directors at Large, and Chapter Presidents or a Chapter Representative. If you cannot attend, please send your written excuse to the President, Secretary and Director Melcer not later than September 1st. In addition, committee and chapter reports are due to Secretary Lorrie Duncan, EA, by September 1st. If you will send them to all BOD members, she will not have to make copies for everyone. Chapter reports should include a financial report if possible, and the current number of members and associates in each chapter. Detailed information about your associates must be sent to Judy Jackson for inclusion in the TxSEA Directory as well. You can send that information now so Judy can start compiling the directory information.

If you have any questions, please contact Debbie Cope, EA, Lorrie Duncan, EA, or Rick Melcer, EA.

Lodging and meeting information from Rick Melcer:
I have set up a block of 5 single rooms and 5 double rooms at the Best Western – Brady Inn 2200 South Bridge St. (US Hwys 87 & 377). The rates are $75.66 for a single and $82.44 for a double. These rates do include all taxes. Each of you will need to make your own reservation out of the “TxSEA” block by calling the hotel directly at (325) 597-3997 not later than Thursday, August 23. On Friday, August 24, which is 2 weeks prior to the meeting, I will need to release any rooms not individually reserved. I did not make a block reservation for Saturday night, but there will very likely be enough vacancies for you to extend your stay, if you do so at the time you call in your reservation.

If for any reason you can not be accommodated at the Best Western, the next best choice is Days Inn, 2108 S. Bridge St, (325) 597-0789. The two motels are just one numeric block apart, separated only by a new car dealership.

Our meeting place will be the Brady National Bank Community Room, 111 S. Blackburn St. (1/2 block south of the courthouse square and my office.) If you think you may need to be contacted during the meeting, the phone number is (325) 597-9663.

For all of you who come in Friday, let’s get together for a Dutch treat dinner at one of the better restaurants in town. (Yes, there are some.) Rest assured, the dress will be casual – except for Dennis Heath, who is expected to wear his Bowler hat, with or without tux.

More to come later, including a map. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
